Hey guys! Did you get the hidden meaning of the "We'll Go to Very Distant Lands" picture? That group of dolls got sent to Cartoon Network in Georgia, and then went to San Diego to be in the Adventure Time Fan Art Expo which is taking place across the street from the Con in the San Diego's Children Museum! I meant to write about this earlier, so that I could maybe find someone who was going and get them to take a picture of them for me (did anyone do this, by chance??)... but look at this:

At 1:43, there's a time-laspe of the dolls being set up! (They left Fionna's ears all crooked though, oh well...) And it looks like Pen Ward donated his pair as well-- they are the very last shot of the video, and are the infamous Finn and Jake dolls whose deviation has over 28,000 views here. How exciting is that??


These last few years have made me realize something important: "art" is a very broad term. My little sister is amazing at all forms of drawing, painting, design (she made me website!), and so growing up I always said, "I don't have a single artistic bone in my body." But look at me now! I took a very practical skill, crochet, and by just having some fun with it got a picture on TV (the Henching Hoodie), a picture published in an art book (Udon's Mega Man Tribute), and now an actual set of dolls in at art show. AN ART SHOW. If I could go back in time and tell my 8-year-old self, the age I gave up drawing, that we would be an artist someday... I wouldn't believe myself. There are many, many ways to be creative and artistic that do not involve a pencil and a piece of paper. Think outside of the box and have fun, and you never know where you'll end up!
